walk cycle

A looping walk cycle animation featuring my original character, Orange Boy. Modeled, rigged,animated, and rendered Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and composited in After Effects.


The walk cycle was rendered in two passes. The first was with a sky dome light and hand painted textures. The second was with a directional light and an AiToon Shader. They were composited together in After Effects, along with additional assets to create the final animation


Test renders of the skipping animation and a walking animation generated from Advanced Skeleton 5 for Maya.


Assets created for the final animation. Modeled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. The cardboard textures were chosen to bridge the gap between the 2D and 3D styles.
